Busy, Busy
Today began innocently enough. I went to class, no big deal. Then I came back to my dorm where I found an email awaiting my arrival that kindly notified me that I will not be able to register for Spring classes because some of my financial aid has not gone through. Okay, no need to panic. I called financial aid and they basically repeated the email, telling me that I would have to fix the problem myself. Right, and I'm supposed to do that how?
So financial woes aside, I went over to health services to get my Meningitis vaccine. That was fun, let me tell you. I was totally fine in the waiting room, which is unusual for me because I get really nervous going to the doctor. After she jabbed me though it was all over. I had to wait around for 20 minutes to make sure I didn't have an allergic reaction to the vaccine. During that time I nearly started hyperventilating. I don't know why, I just got really freaked out. That wore off eventually, but now my arm is sore.
I guess after such a horrific morning, the day could only get better, and it did. I went to a study abroad info. session which was really neat because I was one of only four people who showed up so we got a lot of one on one time with the student panel. The way they spoke about their experiences brought back so many memories of my ACIS trip. They talked about how possessing a passion for travel is so personal because nobody really understands just how deep it goes. If I had any doubts about going abroad, they were erased at that meeting.
All in all, not an entirely awful day. It was actually fairly productive, and I'm sure everything will work out with financial aid in the end. If not, I can always take my semester abroad early and bum around Europe for a few months until they decide to let me come back!
